Embrace yourself

Embrace yourself, they say,
when people constantly reminds how much of a failure you are.

Embrace your curves, they say,
when people are talking about how fat they are and you are just staring at yourself silently,
asking, "what about me?".

Embrace your acne, they say,
when promoters are pointing out your flaws and recommending you their products,
and you wondered, "will it help this time?".

Embrace your features, they say,
"we are perfect in our own ways", and they proceed to compliment how pretty she is,
while contradicting their words.

Embrace your single eye lids, they say,
when they are using stickers or going for surgeries to get double.

Embrace your folds, they say,
and they keep on pinching and touching your folds, with that sickening grin on their face.

Embrace your personality, they say,
"you are not born to please people", and constantly get pissed when you don't go their way.

Embrace your past, they say,
"it's the past that shapes your present", yet they kept on bringing the past to prove how much of an asshole you are.

Embrace your status, they say,
"we all have our own pros", but seriously, who notices them beside the brain and beauty.

Embrace your smile, they say,
but don't come and bullshit me and ask why do I smile a certain way.

Stop having double standards.
Embrace yourself first.
