This has been on my mind for quite a while, like, years.
The post 80s, which is also known as the Strawberry generation in Taiwan, are people who couldn't withstand any damage from the social, just like strawberries, they are easily bruised.

Here are some background of strawberry generation:
"they can not withstand social pressureor work hard like their parents' generation; the term refers to people who are insubordinate,[3]spoiled, selfish, arrogant, and sluggish in work.[4]
The term arises from the perception that members of this generation have grown up beingoverprotected by their parents and in an environment of economic prosperity, in a similar manner to how strawberries are grown in protected greenhouses and command a higher price compared to other fruits."

Then what is Generation Y?
"Millennials are sometimes called the "Trophy Generation", or "Trophy Kids,"[65] a term that reflects the trend in competitive sports, as well as many other aspects of life, where mere participation is frequently enough for a reward. It has been reported that this is an issue in corporate environments.[65] Some employers are concerned that Millennials have too great expectations from the workplace.[66]Studies predict that Generation Y will switch jobs frequently, holding far more than Generation X due to their great expectations.[67] To address these new challenges, many large firms are currently studying the social and behaviorial patterns of Millennials and are trying to devise programs that decrease intergenerational estrangement, and increase relationships of reciprocal understanding between older employees and Millennials, while at the same time making Millennials more comfortable."

The reason why I talked about this is because something like this had been happening in my CCA.
"Er, what's happening?"
Aiya, nothing larh lorh.
Long story short, my juniors are being extremely lazy when it comes my all times favorite, training.
They had been giving excuses about them not coming to training.
This is not the worst.
The worst is their parents still side them even though the know it's wrong!
I seriously know right? -__-
Also, some of them complained about the toughness of training.
To be very honest, a lazy ass like me, if I were not to complain anything about it, then why do they?
I'm not trying to be unreasonable there, be seriously, anyone who has seen our training have to agree that it's quite lay back.
Besides all those necessary punishments.

Talking about twitter..
I really thought the all those training are nothing.
Seriously, speaking from a generation Y.
I thought that our generation had been too dependent on internet.
Then did I realized that research information are mostly from Google.
and Google is powered by internet.
They can't really blame us if we are on the internet too frequently.
Internet aside.
Parents are at fault too.
There is this Chinese saying which goes:
望子成龙,望女成凤
In Chinese, dragon symbolizes the power and boldness, intelligent and ambitious, heroism and nobility, whereas the phoenix symbolizes the peace and prosperity and constant striving spirit.
Parents wished the best for their child.
And for output of force, there must be input of strength (D&T stuff).
Similarly, for their child to be the best, they have to do what benefits their child the most
However, going according to your child wish when you know that it is not right isn't the best.
Judging from the incident,
how can they be independent?!
It just make them a whinny little.....
And this kind of behavior shouldn't be accepted,
be it in school, at home, better still, society.
Generation Y wants the best of quality and quantity.
In this case, quality represents the working environment, it must be comfortable,
and quantity represents the money or work received.
Talking about laziness~
And I really do not like it when they argue back about their own morally incorrect behavior.
It's like arguing about why you do not flush down the toilet when you know you are suppose to do it EVERY DAMN TIME.
It's just not right, there's nothing to argue about.
No reason for the bad behaviors.
In conclusion, generation Y:
- do things their own way and must be their way
- are whinny (most)
- complain about almost everything (applicable to S'porean only)
- is the generation of technology
- is very laid back
- follow trends blindly
- are fast readers (you probably took less than 5 mins to read this blog post)
- wants success without effort
- is very lazy
- is very soft, cannot be hurt. Once hurt, rant on social websites.
- thought of changing the world, with technologies.
THOUGHT
Generation Y isn't that bad either.
I have nothing to talk about it anymore.
*scream* O-level is 48 days away.
Face palm, table palm, book palm, floor smack.
I should panic now.
Panic-tion triggers my mind to fear about my future if I do not study/mug now.
FYI, IT'S SEPTEMBER HOLIDAY.
